Students play tug-of-war.

🐏 T.C. Roberson High School students took time out of the rigors of academic life to kick back and have some fun during Rams Reset last week.

The school-wide wellness day initiative gave students and teachers another way to connect, teach, and learn. Teachers and staff offered fun sessions on many different subjects, and students were able to branch out, meet new people, and create new experiences. With topics ranging from beekeeping to jewelry making to Broadway jazz, teachers showed another side of themselves by sharing their unique hobbies. Field day games took over the outdoor areas around the school, and a motivational speaker from The Beautiful Tomorrow Assembly encouraged students to believe in themselves as they chart their paths toward the future.

“I liked the keynote speaker for ‘Beautiful Tomorrow,’” said Sandy, a junior. “The energy was great. It was inspiring, because the people around me made me happy with their energy.”

From putt-putt to fishing to sourdough starters, the event had something for everybody.

“I went to a session on Goth subculture,” said T’Ziyah, another junior. “We learned about the history of it and literature that influenced the subculture. Then we watched ‘Dracula’ and talked about music. It was fun to talk about things I care about.”
