Students from Charles T. Koontz Intermediate School and Glen Arden Elementary School recently joined young singers from across North Carolina for NC SINGS!, a choir festival designed to inspire students through music, collaboration, and learning.

The one day festival brought together talented young vocalists for a unique opportunity to work alongside top music professionals, strengthen their vocal skills, and experience the excitement of performing with fellow students who share a passion for singing.
The festival gave students the opportunity to grow as musicians while building friendships and creating lasting memories.
Charles T. Koontz Intermediate chorus teacher, Christy Woppman, shared what this experience has meant for her students, “Opportunities like this are important for young singers. Students build confidence, make new friends, encourage musical growth, and allow them to experience the joy of creating music together.”
Music education plays an important role in Buncombe County Schools, providing students with opportunities to express their creativity, build confidence, and develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
