BCS Middle school students spent part of their summer building confidence, developing leadership skills, serving their community, and making lasting memories through the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office On-Track summer camps.

Across two sessions, students took part in a wide variety of hands-on experiences, from hiking, swimming, fishing, and leadership challenges to community service projects and career exploration. Campers visited the Black Mountain Veterans Home, helped clean up Hominy Creek, explored careers alongside local professionals and law enforcement agencies, and capped off their adventures with whitewater rafting and a treetop adventure at the Nantahala Outdoor Center.

On-Track gave students an opportunity to step outside their comfort zones while building positive relationships with School Resource Officers and one another. Each session concluded with a graduation ceremony celebrating the students’ growth, accomplishments, and a summer full of new experiences.
