Fifth graders from W.D. Williams Elementary recently took learning beyond the classroom during an exciting field trip to the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

Students spent the day challenging themselves through a variety of outdoor activities designed to build confidence, communication, and teamwork. From working together during teambuilding challenges to testing their skills on the climbing wall and ropes course, students encouraged one another every step of the way.
The experience gave students the opportunity to reach new heights as they stepped outside their comfort zones and discovered what they could accomplish with determination and support from their classmates.

“This was really awesome,” one fifth grader said after taking part in the activities.
Beyond the adventure, the field trip helped students strengthen friendships, practice problem-solving skills and learn the importance of trusting and supporting one another.
It was a memorable day of learning, laughter, and adventure for the Warponies as they climbed toward New Heights together!
