Dr. Jennifer Reed has been sworn in as the interim superintendent of Buncombe County Schools.

Surrounded by her family, BCS teammates, and members of the Board of Education, Dr. Reed took the Superintendent’s oath. Several principals, assistant principals, and other teammates attended virtually from their schools to be part of the special ceremony.

The interim superintendent started her career in education 25 years ago as a classroom teacher with the school system. For the past four years, she has served as its associate superintendent. Dr. Reed succeeds Dr. Rob Jackson, who retired after 34 years of service to public schools in North Carolina.
