The first week of school brought more than new backpacks and fresh pencils to Emma Elementary. It also brought a familiar reminder that the community is behind its teachers.
For another school year, Fred Anderson Subaru has adopted every classroom at Emma Elementary, continuing a partnership that helps teachers start the year with additional resources and encouragement.

As teachers returned from summer break, they found giant boxes of classroom supplies waiting for them, along with a breakfast from Chick-fil-A provided by the Fred Anderson Subaru team. Each teacher also received credit through AdoptAClassroom.org to choose additional supplies for their individual classrooms.

The dealership added a personal touch by delivering a scrapbook filled with encouraging messages from customers to let Emma Elementary teachers know their community is cheering them on.
“We really appreciate the kindness they are showing to us,” said Shirley Young, an Emma Elementary teacher. “We all rise together when we work as a community.”
For Fred Anderson Subaru, the partnership is about more than supplies. It is an investment in teachers and the students they serve.

“To be able to give these teachers additional tools to make an even bigger impact on students that will benefit them way down the road, it is an incredible gift,” said Kim Richardson of Fred Anderson Subaru.
As a new school year gets underway, every Emma Elementary classroom now has a little extra support — and a community partner helping teachers and students begin the year ready to learn.
