Students at Weaverville Primary School spent the day exploring a world of possibilities during the school's annual Career Day, where professionals from a wide range of fields shared their experiences and inspired young learners to dream about their futures.

Representatives from careers in health care, public safety, skilled trades, the arts and more visited classrooms to talk about their jobs, answer questions and demonstrate the skills they use every day.

Students had the opportunity to meet a pharmacist, anesthesiologist, cartoonist, typographer, plumber, police officer and many other professionals. They also enjoyed a special visit from Sherry, a police K-9, who accompanied law enforcement officers and gave students a closer look at the important role police dogs play in keeping communities safe.

Throughout the day, students asked thoughtful questions, explored tools of the trade and learned how a variety of careers contribute to their communities. The event encouraged curiosity while helping students make connections between what they learn in school and future opportunities.

Career Day is one of the many ways Weaverville Primary introduces students to career awareness at an early age, inspiring kids to discover their interests, explore new possibilities and begin thinking about the many paths their futures could hold.
