📚 ✨ 🏰 First graders at Candler Elementary stepped into the world of fairy tales in May during a special Cinderella-themed Fairytale Ball, celebrating the completion of their study of Cinderella stories from around the world.
Students dressed in their finest royal attire, danced, participated in themed activity stations, and explored different versions of the classic tale they had studied throughout the learning module. The event served as a joyful culmination of weeks of hard work in the classroom while giving students the opportunity to strengthen social skills, engage in hands-on learning, and create lasting memories with their classmates. Teachers transformed the experience into an immersive celebration, helping bring literature to life and rewarding students for their dedication and growth.
“The students had been talking about the ball for days and were so excited to celebrate the end of the module,” said first grade teacher Tina Kibbe. “It was wonderful to watch their reactions and bring the stories to life. This will be a special memory from their first-grade experience. This was our first Fairytale Ball, and we're already looking forward to adding even more to it next year.”
