It was a sweet surprise for a bus driver who goes the extra mile.
Just after Frances Hyatt finished her morning route for A.C. Reynolds High School, assistant principal Kristin Bozeman said she needed her help in a classroom. When she arrived, she was surrounded by a special BCS Surprise Squad and many of the students from her bus, to share the news that she is the BCS Bus Driver of the Year.
“She works so many hours on one of the longest routes, and always has a smile to share,” Ms. Bozeman said. “She also helps transport students throughout the day to internships so they can get job training experience. She shows incredible love to our students and is dedicated to our school community.”
One student was moved to tears, so happy to see Ms. Hyatt receive her award.
“Despite the early mornings, late evenings, and high mileage, Ms. Hyatt always offers a friendly greeting to everyone she meets,” said BCS Transportation Director Jeremy Stowe. “We are so happy for this opportunity to honor her.”
Mr. Stowe, Ms. Bozeman, and the students were joined by BCS Assistant Superintendent Chip Cody, Assistant Director of Transportation Seth Crooke, Reynolds principal Ben Alexander, and Ms. Hyatt’s daughter, Brittany, who is an Exceptional Children’s assistant at the school.
Congratulations, Ms. Hyatt!
