A store’s grand opening turned out to be a five-grand surprise for Haw Creek Elementary School.
Burlington held a ribbon cutting for its new location on South Tunnel Road April 15. The ceremony included a donation of $5,000 in credit to AdoptAClassroom.org, to be shared among Haw Creek's teachers.
“Even though summer is almost here, our teachers never stop thinking and planning about all the wonderful things coming up in the new school year ahead,” said principal Christen Davidson. “With this gift, Burlington has given them even more exciting possibilities.”
The store is located in Overlook Village, across from Asheville Mall.
