Her colleagues say Mrs. McBride has a huge heart for service and has spent her career working to make a difference for families. She has also been a mentor for fellow school social workers.

The Student Services Surprise Squad of BCS Assistant Superintendent Dr. Jamie Johnson, Student Services director Shanon Martin, and assistant director Holly Houchard surprised Mrs. McBride with the news when they popped in on her at Weaverville Primary, with a chorus of cheering kindergarteners.
