Sixth graders at Charles T. Koontz Intermediate School recently turned their learning into a vibrant celebration as they explored cultures around the world - culminating in a joyful Holi-inspired event.

As part of their studies, students learned about the traditions and customs of India, including the festival of Holi, often called the “Festival of Colors.” Holi celebrates the arrival of spring and symbolizes joy, unity, and new beginnings.

To bring their learning to life, Koontz students participated in a special tradition that has become a favorite each year. After studying the history and meaning behind Holi, students gathered outside to celebrate by tossing non-toxic colored powder into the air - and onto each other - filling the space with bright bursts of color and laughter.

By connecting classroom lessons with hands-on experiences, Koontz Intermediate continues to help students broaden their perspectives and appreciate the diverse cultures that make up our global community.
