Macy’s may have its big balloons and showstopping tunes, but 34th Street can’t compete with the joyful school spirit of the A.C. Reynolds High School Holiday Parade on Rocket Drive.
Students lined the street Friday to see creative floats and decorated cars sponsored by school clubs and organizations. For the last four years, the Rockets have come together for the parade in the last 30 minutes leading up to winter break. This year’s event was led by BCS Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson and Reynolds math teacher Brian Barnhouse, followed by the Reynolds Fire Department.
“It’s a beautiful sight to see all the green and gold, along with all the smiles along the parade route,” said Reynolds High School principal Ben Alexander. “Our students work hard to make the parade joyful for everyone. It’s an amazing way to celebrate the holidays with our school family.”
This year’s parade featured band students playing holiday tunes, and Santa and Mrs. Claus in a sleigh propelled by FFA advisor Elijah Frisby on the school's tractor.
