Buncombe County Schools recognized the dedication of its Maintenance Department during the district’s annual Maintenance Holiday Breakfast, an event held to honor the often-unseen work of the teammates who keep school buildings and grounds running smoothly.

Maintenance team members are responsible for ensuring school facilities remain safe, warm and inviting for students and staff throughout the year. While much of their work happens behind the scenes, the breakfast provided an opportunity to highlight the critical role these men and women play across the district.

Members of the Buncombe County Board of Education and the BCS leadership team attended the event, offering words of thanks and appreciation for the department’s continued commitment and service. Speakers acknowledged the long hours and hard work required to maintain school buildings, grounds and facilities.

The gathering also served as a time for fellowship, allowing team members to come together, share a meal and reflect on the impact of their work as the holiday season approaches.
