Players on North Buncombe High School’s Women’s basketball team have skills on the court and in the classroom. The North Carolina High School Athletics Association (NCHSAA) honored the team June 18 for having the highest grade point average in the state for the 2024-25 basketball season.
“We are super proud of these players,” said assistant principal Clint McElrath. “They had a 3.98 GPA, which shows how hard they work no matter if they’re in the gym or in class.”
Mr. McElrath accepted the award on behalf of the Blackhawks from NCHSAA Commissioner Que Tucker.
