First grade students from Black Mountain Primary School got a hands-on lesson in agriculture during a recent visit to Owen High School’s FFA Ag Day.
The event gave the younger students the opportunity to explore the world of farming through a variety of interactive activities. Stations included butter making, planting seeds, and a farm equipment simulator, giving students a chance to learn through experience.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting farm animals up close. Students were introduced to chickens, goats, a cow, bunnies, and even a snake, sparking curiosity and excitement at every station.
Owen High FFA members guided the students through the activities, answered questions, and helped ensure a fun and educational experience for everyone involved.
Ag Day continues to be a collaborative highlight between the two schools, promoting agricultural literacy and building community connections across age groups.
