The 2025 yearbook distribution at North Buncombe High School (NBHS) was more than just a celebration of memories - it was a moment of recognition for individuals who embodied leadership, resilience, and heart.

In a special presentation hosted by the yearbook staff, Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson was honored for his steadfast support during Hurricane Helene. As the storm disrupted school schedules and created uncertainty across the district, Dr. Jackson remained a consistent and reassuring presence. To thank him for his leadership, the staff presented him with a yearbook, symbolizing his role in helping the school community weather the storm.

Also recognized was Mr. Darryl Fox, the 2026 Buncombe County Schools Teacher of the Year. Known for his energetic lessons and deep care for his students at NBHS, Mr. Fox received a yearbook in appreciation for the difference he makes every day in the classroom.

One of the most meaningful recognitions went to Mr. Andrew Shelton, a dedicated educator and mentor at NBHS. In a school-wide vote, the senior class selected Mr. Shelton to receive a complimentary yearbook - an acknowledgement of the lasting impact he’s made on their high school experience.

As students flipped through the pages of photos, autographs, and memories, the event served as a reminder that a yearbook captures more than just moments - it captures the people who help shape them.
