Valley Springs Middle School (VSMS) brought the house down with its spring musical production of Disney’s “Descendants,” thrilling packed auditoriums and showcasing the talent and teamwork of its student performers and crew.

Directed by chorus teacher Felisha Holliday, the production featured over 40 students in cast and crew roles, transforming the school’s auditorium into the magical worlds of Auradon and the Isle of the Lost. Based on the hit Disney Channel movie, “Descendants” follows the children of famous villains as they navigate friendships, identity, and redemption.

Student Ashlynn Burns led the cast as Mal, daughter of Maleficent, delivering a standout performance filled with energy and emotion. Alongside her were Garek Carpenter as Carlos, Cate Bainbridge as Evie, and Zander Gibney as Jay - each bringing charisma and depth to their roles.

After the final curtain, the audience erupted in applause, giving the cast a standing ovation. The success of “Descendants” left a lasting impression on the Valley Springs community. 

With this production, VSMS proved that when students are given the spotlight, they shine brighter than ever.
