Sunshine the Safety Bus is back on the road! After launching the initiative last year, Transportation Director Jeremy Stowe is back again behind the wheel of his big yellow school bus, visiting local preschools to teach rising kindergarten students the basics of bus safety.
During each visit, Stowe covers important topics like how to safely get on and off the bus, the importance of staying seated, and the special hand signals drivers use to let students know when it’s safe to cross the road.
This year’s first stops included Weaverville United Methodist Preschool and Grassy Branch Preschool, where students were eager and excited to meet Sunshine the Safety Bus and learn how to ride the bus with confidence and care.
