At North Buncombe Middle School (NBMS), Principal Nicholas Honeycutt is more than just a leader - he’s a constant presence, connecting with students and staff every day. Whether he’s greeting students in the hall, cheering at  school events, or lending a hand in classrooms, his dedication shines through.

With over 20 years in education, Mr. Honeycutt says middle school is where his heart is, as he got his start as a sixth grade math and social studies teacher.

“I love middle school kids as I help them figure out what’s going on in life and academics,” he said. “This community has an outpouring of support for the North Buncombe District schools. We are all one family, and we are doing this together.”

Students have noticed his commitment, and enjoy his presence at NBMS.

“Mr. Honeycutt is really nice,” said eighth grader Cole. “He’s a really good principal and is here for everybody. He helps not only me be a better person, but makes sure that everyone is doing their best.”

The love and support Mr. Honeycutt receives from the school community speaks volumes about the impact he makes each day. His dedication has created a positive environment where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.

“I care about each of the kids here, and I hope the parents see that,” said Mr. Honeycutt.
