The students of Black Mountain Elementary were filled with excitement as they stepped into a winter wonderland, thanks to South River Baptist Church from Statesville, NC. In the classrooms students received a brand new pair of pajamas. When the kids entered the gym they saw tables overflowing with books, blankets, gloves, toboggans, toys, stuffed animals and so much more. Each child picked special items to keep, along with food bags to take home.
After shopping, the magic continued as the students sipped hot chocolate, enjoyed sweets, and settled down to watch “The Polar Express.” Laughter and smiles filled the gymnasium, making it a day of warmth, joy and unforgettable memories.
