School closings and delays for students at Buncombe County Middle College are based upon closing and delay decisions made for base high school districts. 

If all Buncombe County Schools are closed, students do not report to Middle College for high school classes. 

If a base school district is closed, it will be closed to all students who reside in that district. There may not be an announcement specific to Middle College for a closing or delay so students are expected to follow their base school district closing. 
For example, if the Owen district is closed, students that live in the Owen district would not be required to report to school.  

If there is a delay, students should follow the following modified schedule:

Two Hour Delay

Block 1 - 12:00 -12:55

Block 2 - 1:00 - 2:00

Block 3 - 2:10 - 3:45

Three Hour Delay

Block 1 - 12:35 -1:15

Block 2 - 1:20 - 2:05

Block 3 - 2:10 - 3:45

Specific for Middle College, students will not report to school if either their base school or A-B Tech are closed. 

If Middle College students are taking A-B Tech courses and Middle College is closed but A-B Tech is open, they are expected to report to A-B Tech classes if they can do so safely. If students do not feel they can safely report to class, they are expected to contact the instructor.
